Bouncing Off The Walls Yet? Me Too!

The Covid-19 pandemic and its associated worldwide lockdown and restrictions on travel have definitely taken a toll now. Many lives have been lost. Many arguments have started and friendships have been destroyed over differing opinions about the severity of the problem. There is no doubt in my mind that there are still many months to go before the situation settles down.

What are you doing these days? Have you decided to stay home and avoid social activities and contacts or are you getting back into the “swing” of things? A lot of people rushed out to enjoy some of their regular routines when the initial lockdown ended. Sadly, that resulted in a large upsurge in cases being reported..

Whether or not you think the situation is “serious”…whether or not you believe our government and health authorities are taking the correct actions…things are different now and they’ll probably stay “different” for the foreseeable future. I think the best thing to do is to accept that and adjust our lives and habits accordingly.

It’s really not a huge imposition to put on a mask when you’re going to be in public. No, masks are not the Holy Grail of safety and prevention of spreading illness. But they allow an extra layer of safety between you and the person next to you while you interact. If not for your own safety, then for the safety of the other person.

Enough of that…it’s been over 8 months since I took a trip or had the privilege of looking after someone’s pets and home while THEY took a trip. I’m really getting tired of being cooped up at home…can anyone relate?? I’m starting to plan trips just so I can remember the process… And that led me to start thinking about financing the trips…always a concern, right?

I discovered a Canadian credit card review website, Credit Card Genius, and they’ll review your situation and suggest the best card for you…if they don’t pick the “best” card, they’ll give you $5. They let you choose what’s important to you: cash vs travel points, low fees vs insurance coverages, low interest vs perks. You pick on a sliding scale for each and they do their evaluation. The result for me was a card I’ve never heard of before, but it looks great for travellers. It’s from Brim Financial and you can check it out here: Brim Mastercard.

I’d love to hear what you think of the Credit Card Genius site!
